My mare is a 14.1hh, welsh d x
Basicly a l/w cob

Shes currently beings fed a big round scoop (1 1/2 pound)
Mollichaff, small scoop (3/4 pound) Pony nuts
and a handful of spedibeet.
She gets hay in the field when theres no grass and a 10 poundish haynet a night which she eats almost all of it.
Does this sound about right, and what do you feed horses of a simmilar build?

Hiya
I would say is your horse in good condition..weight...workload..does she live out...?
If she is in good condition and doesnt loose weight and if she lives out.then personally i would put her on a scoop of hi-fi and half a scoop of nuts twice a day and maybe a vit min supplement

tbh either way live in or out try her on this

hope this helps

Oh yeahh ..
Shes in fine condition, not fat not thin, BUT as soon as shes not getting enough grass/food it drops v.quickly!
Shes lunged/longreined 5/6 times a weel for 20 mins
And lives in

She also is on dodsen & horrel placid & glycosamine & garlic

Well In That Case Leave Her To What She Is Eating If You Think She Is Doing Well Onit Then Dont Change It

The feed value of mollichaff isnt great for horses that need to gain weight, its just straw and sugar. When the grass changes i would increase the sugar beet and feed a more nutritionally valuable chaff such as alfalfa or D&H fibergy. Also feed ad lib hay in field and stable
