Hi I am new to posting on this forum but have been reading it for ages and have now taken the plunge and registered as I need some suggestions
I have 7yr old 14.2 Conn x tb gelding who is in hard work (completing weekly, dressage, SJ and just started ODE's) We are aiming him for the MK 3DE in May (was placed last year) and he will start intro's in June. He is currently fed 2.5kg's of Dodson and Horrell Stay power cubes a day accross 2 feeds plus ad-lib hay and is out all during day and worked 4-6 days a week (good mix of hacking/fitness work and schooling). He was lacking stamina (Full of it to start with but tank running low quicker than it should) so I put him on outshine about 3 weeks ago, but this has turned him into a complete nightmare on the ground, he is never a problem when you are on him but has had a tendancy to be lively on the ground since he was a baby, its just his thing, its how he shows his exhuberance
. Can anyone suggest a feed regime that will give him the sustainanble energy without blowing his brain?
He is a really happy healthy little thing and loves his work, I just can't cope with the stress of getting him to and from the field
I Aim to sell him later this year as he really deserves to be in a good pc home and not be living with boring adults but he would be too much for a child on the ground at the moment
Thanks for making it to the end of this post!
