Ive recently seen some amazingly knowledgeable sounding feed advice given out so what would you do here?!

Horse is 16.2 ID good doer but windsucks (always has) um, has coliced once- impaction seemed ok since. Droppings are quite dry and normal looking (as in never cow pat like) I treat him as an ulcer risk as he windsucks.

He had ad lib hay- usually soaked but if he runs out I do chuck dry in his box or out in the field if its frosty.
I was feeding Happy Tummy, Buteless as he's had soundness problems and Quick beet. A stubbs scoop x2 a day and a mug of dry beet soaked then split.
Im going to stop with the happy tummy as its made no difference and he's not really keen on it anyway- also with spring grass on its way his weight will become a problem. Im very keen though to continue looking after his tummy!

I was going to feed Dengie Hifi Lite and Spillers high fibre nuts along with his Quickbeet (mainly because its all low calorie and its what my other horses get so its easy)
I was going to add- His buteless then currently trying Ulser Guard by Equine America but thought of adding Yeasacc or similar as a probiotic.
Since being on the Ulser Guard I think he seems a bit happier- he certainly strides out better hacking.

I bought Happy Tummy Charcoal but as with most gut medication they seem geared towards horses with runny tummies. As he's suffered an impaction in the past and already has dry poo I don't want to risk this.

Can anyone add to comment or change this to his benefit please?

Not he hasn't. Ive spoken to my vet about it and do want to get it done, Its just quite difficult as they need electric and I don't have any- he wont load so I cant take him some where else for the night...Im working on this and hope to get it done soon.

Soundness- Before I had him he was lame on and off all the time- apparently had been for years and years. He's a very high mileage horse sadly and has been a hireling before doing quite strenuous dressage training.
He was lame when I had him- in fact was being pts the following week.
Its always the same fetlock and has been injected with cortisone several times *touch wood* lots of rest, being uber careful ground wise etc and the buteless seems to have sorted it out.

He's just turned 15. He's very much happier now and is quite a bright cheerful horse. He's been sound for the longest time ever and has a good tear round the field bucking and playing these days- he never used to play with others. His ears are always pricked and I think he enjoys life now.

Following a tip on here, I give my suspected ulcers mare Aloe Vera juice daily. She can be very grumpy/girthy and is prone to colic. She can also be very 'gassy'. Since starting the AV she has been much less grumpy/girthy nd less gassy. If we run out she reverts within 36 hrs. Now I make sure we never run out!

Thank you- someone has suggested Aloe Vera to me before. I forgot all about it! At the time I'd already ordered the Ulser Guard so figured I'd use that first. Where do you buy from and what dose do you feed your horse?
