I suppose you could shake some hay out and upend the bucket onto the hay. Would she spend a bit of time rootling through it to 'graze?'

My old boy is on slop, he also insists on lifting his head between every mouthful and slopping it everywhere! I feed him out in the field while it is dry, he slops it everywhere but then hoovers it up off the ground. I also find making his feed very sloppy almost like a soup, which I've been doing while it has been hot to keep him hydrated, means he drinks it rather than trying to chew it, so less sloppage!

I have a few big storage boxes which I use as mobile water troughs occasionally. Very strong and large. Similar to the plasterers bath. Not sure iuf they are the same as the ones in the link below but very similar.
