just wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Going to try nag on some biotin suppliment to see if it helps his rubbish feet. He is currently living out, and living off the grass in the field. He is quite fat atm (but no where near lami!!!), and not doing any work (lame).

I am therefore needing something to put the biotin in, and thought that chaff would be the best thing??? If so, can anyone recommend one?

when i first got my boy his feet were bad , i put him on farriers formular[quite dear but worked wonders .high-fi lite is good.x

My girl is on Thorogoods (think thats what its called) chaff and she has Newmarket Hoof Supplement, Linseed Oil and Garlic supplements. Her feet have improved so so much since being on the Newmarket, it might be worth a go if the Biotin does not help him.

Soaked molassas free sugar beet. Extra fibre, you can mix in the biotin into it and you're getting extra water into him.

Farriers Formula. Fantastic stuff. You only need to give them a tiny amount of little pellets which are very palatable. I used to feed it to one of mine by hand. Easier than giving a proper feed, probably works out cheaper long term too.

Iam currently trying biotin, for Charlie's feet. He has now had his new shoes on for 2 weeks. Biotin is the same as farrirers formula, but also half the price. So far so good. Just hope I dont need the farrier before his 6 weeks are up
