Any feedback on equitrek trailers welcome!
I am looking for something to help my tricky loader and rather claustrophobic mare to enjoy travel. I am selling my Bateson Deauville and was thinking of an Equitrek when one of my prospective buyers said she had read a lot of bad press?!

not had my own but poor build quality and poor customer service then the prior results in problems I think sums up most people's experiences.

I have a Trail-Treka and love it! Bought it new two years ago specifically for travelling a mare that had travelled in wagons all her life and wouldnt go in an IW if you kissed her ass!! because its a side loader it mimics going into a wagon . Up the ramp, turn, partition closed. Ramp up. Easy peasy! No more drama.

Talking of the Trail Treka, I was quite interested in these, having also a horse that wont entertain a trailer. I have a wagon at the mo but really dont warrant one. I was concerned about the width and managing to load and turn a potentially difficult loader. What do you tow it with please?

I have a space trekka, bought new, 2009. I love it, and so do my horses! They literally load themselves, arrive fresh as daisies. Towed with a jeep.

I have a Show Treka - called something else now. Absolutely love mine. Fabulous to tow with. Not found a horse yet who didn't travel well with it. I have been camping with it etc.

The new ones are better designed now in the front (living quarters) But tbh, mine is more than adequate and the most important one is the horse. :)

I think the bad press comes from the older models. I have a 4year old show trekka and absolutely love it. There is no way I'd ever go back to a Bateson or IW now, not had a single problem

I swapped my iw for a space trekka and never looked back. Great to tow and my cob travels like a dream. I have never had a horse refuse to load.

I much prefer the rear facing travel thing.

I have just bought the space treka I used to have a Ifor 511 the equi-trek is much more solid which I wanted for my cob and my baby 3 year old to travel together long distances I am going to start small journeys as my 3 year old is being backed in August has anyone travelled youngsters first time with a friend who he is out with him in the field 24/7 how did it go. As for getting a equi-trek I wouldn't hesitate again as there is more room for your things a the front and the car dosn't get messed up !! I also tow with my Jeep grand cherokee overland and its ace.

can I ask a question as well :)
I currently have a cheval as I was towing with a Rav 4, I've now changed car to a Nissan Pathfinder, tow weight 3000kg, I've had a look at the show trekka as I like them, better than getting a small box. will the pathfinder tow it well, I think the show trekkas are about 1300kg unlaiden leaving me enough for 2 horses (one 450kg max if he's fat and one 550kg)
the reason I ask is the Rav4 should have been ok with up to 2000kg but even with a light weight trailer (750kg) and one horse (550kg) I could really feel it struggle. now when I tow with the pathfinder I have to remind myself the trailer is on the back! it's miles better! I'm hoping it wont struggle with the heavier trailer?
what do you tow it with and how do u find it?
I've had a good look at them and they look nice and solid, my friend had one and loved it:)
