Previously I was feeding Millie (12hh section A) 1 1/2 slices of haylage a night but have now managed to get some hay delivered.

The hay is this years and looks really nice but I am not sure if I Should I start feeding it ad Lib?

She comes in at night, out in the day. She is probably slightly over weight.

Any ideas?

Yes, even if she is overweight she needs access to forage at all times so that her gut is kept active

If she is a fattie then you CAN soak the hay for up to 24 hours (although doesn't need to be that long), and then it still does the job in terms of fibre for the gut, but won't give her many calories.

If she is in at night like mine then, yes, I would be feeding her adlib hay. When mine are in during the day in summer they get a set amount and usually don't finish it all because they are so dozey when they've been at grass all night. But I don't mind setting a limit in summer because they are out for about 16-18 hours and only in for about 6.
