I am aware that feeding is one thing I don't focus on enough when looking for top performance from my horses. Generally all mine get fed the same and I am not sure whether I vary enough depending on their conditiion and work i.e. from light hacking to advanced eventing.

I have had a number of chats with different feed companies including Pure Feeds, Spillers, Falcon Feeds and whilst all are helpful they only recommend there own products. Some products i.e. the Pure concept and Simple Feeds vary quite significantly to the more conventional mixture of mixes or even the old fashioned concept of feeding straights.

Is there anyone out there giving totally independent advice? I wouldn't mind paying for it from a suitably knowledgeable and qualified person but would love to talk to someone that consider the range of products on the market and what will suit me and my horses needs.

Any ideas anyone?

Hi Sarah Jane, as part of Supplements 4 Horses I offer a forage analysis service which then enables me to find out which mins and vits you need to add to balance your horses diet.

Depending on the type of horse, weight, work level and any other issues they may have, I can then make a specific diet plan for you and you can work out which feeds would benefit your horse's best.

The lady in the link above sounds good but I'm not sure if she takes into consideration the haylage / hay analysis.

Anyway no probs but if you want some help please just let me know. :)

We had our Hay and Haylage analysed. Not that it will have any relevance to you but it would make interesting reading and you can see the detail we got back. PM me your email if you are interested,
