Feeding advice for good doer

Can anyone advise me which is best for a good doer: oat straw-based lightly molassed chaff or an alfafa-based lite chaff ?

alfalfa for it's antioxidants & goodness, oat straw is simply straw!

Yes but isn't alfalfa much higher in feed value so going to put more weight on ?

not if you get the 'lite'.. dengie does one which is half alfalfa and half oat straw.. i personally dont feed straw chaff unless it's really needed,

I wouldn't use either, if it needs something to put supplements in or just to pacify by having a bowl with feed in use fast fibre or speedibeet, both are good carriers for supplements and low calorie, I no longer use chaff they get long fibre from hay and fast fibre in the bucket which is all they require, they do not eat too fast as it is soaked so no risk of choke.

Mine get lite chaff (with alfalfa), a&p fibre beet and a lite balancer

Agree with be positive, chaffs aren't needed, if you need to get supplements down, a handful of this is ideal;
