My 5 year old tb has been out of work a few weeks, I've just started working him again this week, at the moment he's not got a good top line and he's slightly ribby but not skinny he's got a belly on him,
He's up to date with worming and at the moment he had a small bucket of speedi beet a day and out 24/7 but not on a lot of grass
Does anyone have any advice on what to feed him to get some condition on him now he's working again?
Thanks in advance

I would increase feeds to several small feeds a day rather than 1 big one, if that's possible.

I feed my tb Allen and Page Calm and condition, along with a good feed balancer (whatever one is one special at the tack shop) and fast fibre.

Alfa Oil chaff is also great, high oil content so quite calorific but low sugar for sensitive tb tummies.

If your horse isn't getting much grass can you even bring in and give a big haynet a day or provide hay/haylage out in the field?

Try to give mine adlib haylage rather than giving big feeds
