For the first time ever my WB eventer is out of work as I'm expecting a baby.

He came to me as a very skinny poor doer but now after 4 years he's quite at the other end of the spectrum!!!

He is 16.1hh WB currently stabled overnight with a thin rug on and being fed 1 Stubbs scoop D&H leisure mix and half scoop happy hoof morning and evening. He gets one and a half flaps of small bale hay overnight and is turned out on grass daily from 8-6. In a few weeks he will be out 24/7 for his summer routine.

He has always been on full work and eventing at Novice level so I'm just trying to figure out best diet now he's out of work for a whole to stop him getting fat but make sure he gets enough nutrients etc.

Our grass isn't good enough for him to have no additional feed and I wonder if a diet of low-cal balancer and happy hoof would be a good option to ensure he gets his nutrients?

All advice and suggestions gratefully received!!
