He is currently fed on 2 scoops baileys No 4 (split over 2 feeds), pink powder, 2 scoops alfa a oil (split over 2 feeds) and D&H kwikbeet.

Is there anything you recomend I can add for that extra bit of 'sparkle' which will help with weight gain & muscle development? He is not the overly fizzy type.

He is only really in light work at the moment I am doing a fair bit of long reigning to build up topline combined with gentle schooling. He is 8

I have an older (16) TB on the same as that without the pink powder but on Baileys stud balancer and he came to me on 20 December looking like a plank. He was also very depressed and his coat was dull. In a short time he is looking fabulous and his eyes and coat are shiny - I cant believe that through winter this boy is doing so well. I got my 'menu' from Baileys so maybe phone them and see what they say?

He's on quite a lot of hard feed at the moment already so I dont think personally I would add anything feed wise but possibily a supplement might help. Sumo is a good product for condition which may be worth a try?
My TB is also on no4 and alfa a oil although he is only on a scoop a day of no4. Last year he worked hard on calm & condition with alfa a oil and looked really well on it.
I also feed top spec conditioning flakes which i think are great for condition.

Sounds like he is already on a good diet, its is slow release energy, you may find as he gets fitter and more toned and developed with the work he will get more energy naturally, (the Alfa Oil has the same amount of energy as a low energy mix before you even start to add concentrates) without you necessarily having to change the feed. Lots of hacking and hillwork will also help build him up too. If you felt he was still lacking you could contact some of the feed companies to see what other feeds they recommend if need be.
And as per TGM above I would agree what type of hay/haylage are you feeding? amount? quality of it?

Thanks for all replies! Glad we seem to be on the right track, feeding is such a minefield! He is on ad lib hay of good quality, with usually a little left over the next morning. our grazing is very poor however atm due to the recent wet weather/being churned up.

The products, volumes and types of energy you are currently feeding are perfect for plenty of slow-release energy and weight gain, alongside preferably ad-lib forage. However for added sparkle you can literally add a handful or two of oats as and when needed. The mixture of slow and quick-release energy in your horse's diet may help you to find the right balance between ploddy and fizzy.
