Can anyone recomend a feed thats High in oil, fibre but low in protein? Preferably a complete mix or something similar. Also can anyone recomend any supplements to give condition and shiny coats for the show season? I know alot of you swear by BOSS but they are too high in protein for my mini. They do not digest high protein diets too well even as youngsters.

Thankyou!

WE FEED OUR MINIES HAPPY HOOF AND A SPLASH OF SOYA OIL THEY ALL DO WELL ON IT AND LOOK GOOD

I give my WB alpha a oil and he has a coat that shines and a temperment to die for he also gets cod liver oil and a herbal mix to hope this helps

Hi, galaxy23 and TLilly - Im not sure if this might be a bit too much protein for a mini although it does look a good feed!!! Thanks for the suggestions!

Wendygood - If i fed him happy hoof how much would you recomend? He is out during the day and the grass is good. Also how much oil do you think i should give and where do you get it from? Do you feed your minis in summer when they are out?

happy hoof or the new dengie healthy hooves would be a good choice, and soya oil, i feed my sec c a coffee mug of oil a bay about 300mls if you feed the reccommended happy hoof/healthy hooves then there is no need to add any extras a mini would probably be on 1-2kgs per day.

I would feed 1 handful(1/4 scoop) morning and evening of happy hoof (its basicaly chaff with bits of mix init all ready),or as yours is out during the day on good grass once a day.
soya oil just a cap full you should be able to get this from any feed merchant if they havnt got it in stock they should be able to order it. 1 of each of the above should last you 4-6 wks if feeding once a day

Try BlueGrass Equi Jewel - its a supplement that’s high in fat, low protein. Puts on condition and give coat a brilliant shine - i swear by it.
