Did put this in CR but no response.

Baileys everyday high fibre mix - wjat are everyones opinions? Is it really any good for horses (mare is good doer and has been jumping newcomers + but isnt particularly va va voom) if not what would you recommend instead? Have been looking at baileys endurance mix as sometimes feel she needs something a bit extra but is again a cereal.

Naf haylege balancer? Mine get fed a LOT of haylege - one is very girthy when you tack up and am concerened her tummy is a bit acidic, is this balancer any good? Or would feeding limestone flour be better?

Unmolassed sugar beet - what are your views? Why do you feed it?

Thanks in advance

both of those mixes include barley, molasses etc etc. I personally wouldnt feed them, I cant find an analysis of sugar/starch level (wonder why!) but I would suspect it was rather high from the ingredients list (on baileys website).

I would just feed straight oats, after having made sure horse was fit enough for level of work.

Rather than feeding pink powder/haylage balancer I'd feed yea-sacc which is basically the ingredient in those anyway. I would possibly query ulcers in that horses case too?

Shes scoped clear for ulcers, but i just wonder if something would help her. Have looked at gastri aid? Which is for excess acid.

Thinking of changing the acidy horse to calm and condition, as she struggles to keep weight on (currently on alfa a oil and conditioning cubes and although doing well was considering either adding some unmolassed sugarbeet or swapping to calm and condition.

Other mare needs something to replace mix, as although slow off the mark i am concerned im not feeding her something thats doing any good.

I changed a "girthy" horse, he scoped clear for ulcers, to calm and condition 2 months ago, he has stopped being girthy, has maintained a good weight and is going really well. I also had him on gastriaid for 6 weeks, he gets some alfalfa pellets and linseed also as he is in fairly hard work.
