Hello,
I’m interested in getting people’s thoughts on feed, I have been in contact with a few feed company’s but they’re just recommending their own brands. My mare is a 10 year old ISH X and is 15hh, she’s ridden 5/6 days a week and we also go out competing most weekends. She’s very laid back and can be quite lazy to ride, she feels like she lacks energy sometimes.
She’s currently being fed half a scoop of Dengie Alfa- a oil chaff, half a scoop of fast fibre and then has a few supplements, stroppy mare, general vitamins and minerals and turmeric.
The chaff works well for her so ideally would like to keep her on that. Allen and page recommended their cool and collected feed instead of the fast fibre, which upon reading up about it does sound good for my horse.
I’m also thinking of changing the supplements to a balancer so she gets her vits and mins, I’ve seen TopSpec do a balancer that helps joints also. I’ve also had TopSpec turbo flakes recommended to me but I’ve been told that’s fed on the day your horse needs a boost.
The alfa-a oil and cool and collected seem like a good mix but will that be too much oil
Sorry if I sound really rubbish I’m not the most clued up on feed and there’s so many different types.
thank you in advance
