Sorry to be so dumb - I've read so much about feeding raw -v- feeding cooked that I'm getting myself confused. I currently feed my terrier kibble with a small amount of cooked minced beef but I'd like to give him the odd bone, partly for his teeth and partly to keep him occupied when he is home alone. Should the bone be cooked or will raw be OK. Is any particular kind/size of bone better? I'm veggie so dont venture into butchers shops but dont want to look silly if I get asked any questions by the butcher LOL

Our dog gets complete dry food daily a tin of sardines at grandma's on a Sunday and a raw bone (whatever the butcher hands over) about once a week which lasts her a few days and keeps her teeth shiny and white :D She looks well on that. I believe cooked bones are more likely to cause problems than raw as some can splinter more easily. Her favorites are beef marrow-bones.

No cooked bones ever!

No weight bearing bones of large animals. So no cow leg bones ect.

Ribs, chicken wings, turkey necks of chicken backs are all good bones.
