My silly mare who usually loves food won't touch her feed if it has calmer in. Have tried dried mint, coke, sugar and molasses. She doesn't seem to like molasses either, odd pony! Getting a syringe into her is also very tricky.

Any suggestions.... :(

You could try salt, apple juice or sugarbeet water. If not then it's syringe or not at all - aren't horses a pain :)

Oh yes! Especially after an evening of trying to load, without any success. But that's another story... Apple juice or apple sauce?

My mare refused to eat Nupafeed calmer and I had to syringe it in despite adding apple juice, molasses etc. She would eat pure magnesium and equifeast cool, calm and collected!

Try a different calmer! Some of them can taste quite metallic which can be off putting. I've found D&H Placid worked well for a fussy feeder - but we do still use NAF Mag Calm in a syringe in an emergecy!
