Hi everyone I know I haven't been on here for ages but need you help/advice/experience!
Max, 15.2 tb x. By ghareeb out of cavalier royale mare, for those that don't know him, is now running at intermediate and has plenty/too much energy but he is too thin for my liking and needs more top line!
He doesn't get turned out (don't shoot me it really is for his own benefit to prevent injury) and the only feed he gets is a handful of hi fi and unmollased sugar beet twice a day and 4x soaked hay nets!
I have tried various things, the latest being A&P fast fibre and he turned into an un rideable wild child nearly sending me into orbit! Top spec cool condition also failed even in tiny quantities.

And I am looking for any advice for weight with out energy at all!

I am trying pure feeds for my highly strung tb. She is on pure easy and so far so good. Previously I added mcronised linseed to her feed for condition and energy

Linseed, wonderful stuff & doesn't hot up my very sensitive TB. I also use spillers conditioning fibre, the top spec cubes which he does cope with. I trialled ERS pellets but they were buzzing him up a bit. I've recently tried pure condition but I think he's not doing so well on it & since the remainder of his linseed ran out he's gone off his eating the pure feed! I tried Coolstance Copra & Ready Mash Extra on him last year, both of which sent him crackers! He also recently tried,& coped with, the Mollichaff condition. He also has ad lib haylage & really thrives on lots of turn out.

i don't know a lot about feed but could it be that he is not getting enough calories because you are keen to prevent him from hotting up? could be that he needs a balancer of some kind (bailey's lo cal for example) to bulk out his feed but without whizzing him up (there is no starch in it/ very little starch....) :)
