currently my mare is having alfa a oil and baileys no 4 and sugar beet. she is doing ok on this but sometimes drops weight and lacks a bit of sparkle.

I was thinking about adding so baileys outshine, uping the no 4 and losing the alfa a as she gets as much hay as she wants.

opinions??

Mare's 7yrs and in moderate work and doesnt fizz up.

LOL yes they are.
Beau,who is 6 and 17.3hh, and loses condition easily,gets:

half stubbs scoop alfa oil
1 stubbs scoop (2kg) Topspec Cool Condition cubes
TopSpec Leisure Time feed balancer
mug full of BOSS
100ml of linseed oil
Alittle bit of speedibeet if Ive made it.

If he is losing weight he gets that twice a day.

He also lives out, in winter he gets adlib haylege.

Lance is a fatty so he doesnt get much!

TopSpec told me I could give Beau 300ml of oil a day if I needed to.

I have an 18hander. He is always going to be a lean sort as he is quite a fussy eater. I give him Baileys outshine and that has helped a lot.

If you give Baileys a call they will have a nutrionalist in your area who will come round, free of charge, assess your horses and recommend a feeding plan for you. They will take into account all the usual things - height, age, work, turn out, temperament etc.

Another thing you can try, that I have found successful with mine is a can of guinness a day. If nothing else your horses coat will look amazing. Mine has put a little bit of weight on too.
