I need to give my horse more energy when being worked. She is currently on competition mix which has improved her no end but now I really need more. I have been told to fed her rolled oats but not sure. Anyone got any idea's? x

She is a 15hh 9 year old show cob. Very laid back. Ridden 4/5 times a week doing and competing at the weekends doing dressage, working hunter combined training and will be showjumping. also will go hunting a couple of times this winter. She is fit and healthy but I just feel I am missing something with her feed to give her more energy.

I find with my cob that you have to be careful with feeding for energy. when he lacks energy I feed oil, either corn oil added to food or a supplement like oilvite. This gives him an energy you can use, rather then silly energy and weight gain.
