Could do with some feeding advice for my 16yr old cob x gelding. He's a really good doer (read gets fat very quickly!) so gets a fairly small feed of pasture mix and a bit of chaff. He's worked 6 days a week (mix of flatwork, lunging, hacking and jumping fortnightly) and goes out during the day on limited grass. He's definitely fit, but he's always very lazy (except when jumping) and is always mr economical, trying to get away with doing the bare minimum! He's always been like this so its not age related but now we're doing more dressage it's becoming frustrating!).

Is there anything I can add to his feed to give him a bit more spark without over feeding him and him putting on more weight? He's currently the perfect weight so I don't really want to increase his hard feed, but just want to add a supplement to try and give a bit more zest!

Thanks.

Sounds very like my connie. I posted a few weeks ago asking the same question!

I've gone with allen and page power and performance. So far not blown his brains, not his belly. But not too much difference on the energy front.

I am upping the amounts very slowly, however, trying to find the amount that is just right.

Miss-bird I also feed my mare Allen and page as i love their Molasses free range too much molasses exxplodes my mares brain.

I was on Ride and Relax with Fast Fibre but I now feed Calm and Condition and Alfa A Molasses free and I love this feed it gives her extra energy without her knowing about it if that makes sence or failing that if you feel the Power and Performace is too much call them I have called them atleaset 3 times this year and they are extreamly helpfull.
