My 17 year old mare does really well in the showring. Great paces, eye catching & well mannered HOWEVER, by the time it comes to the individual show part she falls completely fast asleep (eyes closed in the line up!) this has caused us to miss out in a couple if placings recently as I'm having to really kick her around in the individual show ring. I don't think the heat we have had this summer has probably helped but wonder if anyone could recomend me something to feed her? We don't have this problem at home so I don't need to give her extra energy all the time- just for showing! Any advise would be appreciated :)

I have used Red Cell on two mares that needed a bit more energy in the summer. I start about 5 days before competition, don't use it all the time just when I know it might be hot and they need to be on form. Has worked well for me but would be interested to hear how you get on with the NAF shots if you try them.

either Havens slobbermash if you need weight and energy, or winergy high energy if you need energy but no weight gain.

both fab feeds that have improved the stamina as well as buzzy energy in my PSG horse.

the only thing i will say about the NAF N-ergy shots is that they have quite a big comedown almost like red bull - i remember seeing them used on a normally placid horse before a jump off ina big class at the end of a 5day show after he was given the shot it was like he was on speed! jumped well in JO but the come down was almost instantaneous, on minute he was buzzing the next he was almost asleep on the floor! but that coudl be due to a number of factors; the fact that he was probably acctually quite tired after 5 days competing, so would have been tired any way may have been the added difference - but i maybe wouldnt try it in teh first class if you have a few to do!

slobbermash is Barry's favouritest ever feed but he is not allowed it any more as it sent him loopy! :( def LOTS of buzzy energy!!

I have had really good results with equiform nurtirion. they do a product called Jump off, which has realy helped my laid back new forest who needed more energy and sparkle for doing BE. they advised to feed a half dose normally and double it when competing. she has a more energy, more stamina and no weight gain! the help line are so helpful at recommending which product is best too :)

I tried naff n-energy shots. I found it worked the first tube but then it never made any difference again.
I feed propell to my daughters pony over summer holidays when out competing and pony clubbing all the time.
