Feeding hay in field

Our ponies live out 24/7 and are fed hay in the field.
I'm looking at feeders to help reduce wastage and keep farmer happy. We've got a mini shetland, a 13.2 and 15hh to feed.
So far I've only come up with a hay hutch (I like this one, but it's expensive), or a sheep feeder (not keen on this). Are there any other similar products out there?

you could try looking at the farm ads in local paper to see if anyone is selling a feed ring. good quality ones are expensive but they last 20years+. cheap feed rings are cheap because of materials used to make them, we bought some for our cows from countrywide and they didnt last the winter, horses will push the same as cows for feed

. dont know what you mean by a hay hutch but a feed ring for sheep which we use for the horses as its lowerr down than one cattle so suits ponies as well may cost £100-£200

We got 2 big tractor tyres and bolted them together....perfect!
We use a single one as well so the sheep can reach but of course the horses think the sheep hay is much better than theirs...

THat's a fab idea with the tractor tyres. Love the disgruntled looking sheeo in the pic! Someone elses hay always tastes sooo much better

Try to get hold of those wooden crate things that building supplies come in - I've got a couple that were given to me by someone having an extension built. Failing that, tie four pallets together to make a box which is what I did before I got the crates (easily dismantled and moved too) . . . .
