I have a young mare that is now in regular work and feel she needs feed as she is a little on poor side and her work is increasing. But am worried about what to feed her, although not that foward she is sharp and nappy + stressy. Box walks and can be a handful under saddle. I was looking into top spec range, as heard bad things about A&P but have always used baileys - so any feeding advise helpful - also has anyone used any of the muscle builders or calmers with succsess as looking into them aswell.

Hi, I have a very similar mare to the one you describe. All I feed her is plain chaff, speedi beet and I use spillers light balancer. I also use NAF magic for a calmer. I disguise this with garlic powder as its quite pungent. I also put a glug of vegetable oil/sunflower oil in the feed. I can't really give my mare much more because she's also prone to laminitis.

After owning a very stressy mare for 5 years our saddle fitter recommended adding Yeasac and Chaste Berry to her feeds. She is a changed horse, would not have believed it. The rest of her feed seems almost irrelevant, obviously more if she is in work.
