Hiya, I was just wondering on any tips to get my horses weight on him as he doesn't seem to be putting any more on recently :(

He's on 1 rounded scoop of baileys no.4, half a scoop of alfa A twice a day and as much hay as he will eat. He's not a fussy eater just doesn't tend to eat a lot.

hey :)
I've recently changed my lot onto fast fibre, Alfa A and Lucerne pellets, my poor doer also gets soya flakes, and the weight has piled onto them! They also get ad lib haylage. hope this helps x

My ex racer has 4 small meals a day of sugarbeet, soaked alfalfa pellets and a glug of sunflower oil in each feed plus ad lib hay.

We bought her this time last year coming out of winter looking like this -

On the diet stated above she has come out of this winter like this -

Try adding a mug of micronised linseed. Also try upping him to 3 or 4 feeds a day. Ensure he has as much hay as he can eat. Aim to ensure he always has leftovers.
