Feeding linseed = seasons?

This year I have started feeding micronised linseed and my mare has started noticeably coming into season during winter months. I know it's been relatively mild and she is stabled next to a gelding but she has never done this before during the 8 years I've been owned by her. It was suggested the omega 3 in the linseed could be affecting her?

Any opinions?

My mare has been in season this winter so far, and she is on Linseed, I just assumed that it was the dominant mare that was doing it!

Linseed can bring them into season. It's the omega 3 which is found in spring grass. Also, I know someone who was trying to breed from their mare and she was told to feed linseed to bring her into season. I've taken my mare off it for this reason, she can be a right tart anyway and gets omega 3 in her joint supplement.
