I think I read somewhere that there are brands on the market now which don't need boiling (but possibly need to be soaked?) or that it can be quickly microwaved.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

i use cattle cake. £1.65 in my local feed shop for 2 kgs, lasts about a month with a small handful in dinner.

I cook linseed everyday in winter. It is a hassle but sooo cheap a £12 bag lasts two 16 handers nearly all winter. And if you soak it overnight you only have to bring it to the boil and then boil it hard for ten mins so its not to bad. Have looked into the simple systems stuff but don't know how long one of thier bags would last two horses getting fed it every day. Does anyone know ?
