Feeding my sisters dog?

Am looking after my sisters 7 month old dog at the mo whilst they are on holiday. I am not sure what his mix is but I think there is definatley whippet in there somewhere. The thing is he is really thin and she has given me James Wellbeloved puppy food to give him even though she knows he hates it and doesn't eat it. I have tried mixing in chicken, mince, tuna etc but he just nibbles the meat and leaves the biscuits. He likes his little treats but is not really bothered about eating a proper meal. So any suggestions what he could go onto instead, I would like to find something that he likes and is a good quality food she can maybe keep him on as she is determined to stay on JW but he just isn't eating it!!!

If she is that determined will she not just revert back when she gets home?

Fish4dogs is really good-I imagine you would be hard pushed to find a dog that wont eat their salmon pouches

i wouldnt go changing his food, for all the difference that a week or 2 of different food would make anyway its not worth it,also Id be pretty cheesed off if I was your sister. By adding in other things you're just making him more fussy. JWB is a perfectly decent food, lots of pups go through gangly/lean stages at about 7 months. If it was me, Id give him his meal (no added extras!) and if he doesnt eat in within 10 mins just take it away. Even he doesnt eat for a few days he wont starve himself

I also would not go against her wishes and esp when he is on good quality food.....out of interest, do you have any pictures? I tend to find the "self regulators" as I call them are usually spot on weight wise.
As suggested a 10 minute window would be the best way to go, esp if he is a grazer now, thats possibly the worst way to feed a dog IMO.

I really wouldn't be happy if someone (family or not!) changed my dogs food behind my back.

B went through a stage of turning her nose up at her JWB kibble. She just didnt eat for 3 days untill she realised it was all she would have put infront of her.

I haven't changed his diet at all, she has given me the chicken, mince etc to add to his food but he just won't touch the james wellbeloved which she complains of as well, I was just looking for some suggestions to possibly sample or recommend to her.
