Is it okay to feed whole oats on their own (no chaff)?

Yes, I have been feeding soaked whole oats alone for years - to everything from fit arabs to childrens ponies, suited them all a whole lot better than the molassed mixes.

We always fed the racehorses dry whole oats and never had a problem, half seemed to come out undigested the other end though, that doesn't happen if you soak them.
