Feeding Oils

Hi,
Could someone explain why add these oils -
Cod Liver Oil - i know this one is for the joints and possibly horses with arthritis.
What about Corn oil?
What about veg oil?

A lady I used to work for, gave corn oil to all her 'oldies' for joints and suppleness, but i'm not too sure if it's 'proven' to help those conditions.
Can't hurt though surely?

I use Soya Oil in all my feeds. Keeps my golden oldie supple 'n' shiny!! Its slow releasing on the energy stakes, so a good addition to feeds allround.

I think veg oil is for energy and coat condition.

Ours have vegetable oil to help achieve shiny coats and condition!
