So my boy 16.1 9 year old came to me in summer underweight and under muscled, so to get cracking on the weight situation i put him on calm and condition and mollichaff cherry showshine chaff.
However, didn't see much of an improvement at all over a month of good grass and this feed combo, so switched the Bailys no 4 and the same chaff.
he has since put on fat and muscle which is good but he's starting to drop off a bit
at the moment he has:
ad lib hay (literally as much as he could possibly ever want!)
3/4 of scoop No. 4
1 1/4 of scoop of chaff
has this twice a day
im no feed expert so have asked experienced people at my yard and they say to up his No 4, but i worry about it being too large a feed and either being wasted in his gut or causing problems?
theres so many different options just want peoples opinions on what route might work for adding some extra condition to him?
hes a good lad doesnt fizz up easily, but i am also a poor, poor student so something that cost £40 or so but only lasts a few weeks is just too much atm =/
thank you for sticking with it this far! any opinions welcome
