Sorry - probably all been asked before, but can't search on "pro" on here as its too short.
I have 3 good doers who were getting (a handfull) of molichaff & baileys lo cal balancer. Keep reading about the evils of molasses on here & have now moved them onto pro balance from progressive earth (instead of the baileys) & they will shortly finish the last bag of molichaff, so my questions
What is the best low calorie base for the balancer?
They have been getting mag ox - is there enough in the pro balance or do I still need to add it? I've not done a forage analysis but we are on very acidic soil & get lots of rain so grazing would traditionally be low in magnesium.
1 of the 3 just needs a few calories (works harder than the others) so is getting 100g of micronised linseed per day. Should the other 2 get some as well for joint health etc (one is 23) or is is too calorific for horses that put on weight just looking at a grassy field?
