I've just asked this of a feed rep, but wondered what you would do?
Cob type of approx 23yrs, allergic to some proteins in hard feed. Came out in horrible oozzy spots, pretty much all over and had to be clipped to get to them to treat them. Stopped all feeds that were cereal/oil based. Now being fed SB (proper stuff for the calories), Alfa-A Original, carrots and hay. Out 24/7 in 450 gm TO rug. He's just about holding his weight, is not currently in any work - mainly now due to the healing scabs, which are healing and the skin underneath is clean and healthy looking. However, he could look better. I am loathe to introduce any cereal based oils, what do think to sun flower oil?
Any other suggestions?
