AHT said Pads may have to stay overnight depending how op and recovery go today.

I said that he was on a raw diet so couldn't have tinned meat and kibble for his evening meal. They weren't very impressed tbh and offered cooked chicken and rice as an option. I no longer feed either, but would this be o.k as a one off bearing in mind he'll be straight back onto raw when he comes home?

Thankyou :)

That's rather rubbish of them! I'd be really angry with that compromise as mine can't eat rice, but if Pads has eaten it before with no ill effects I can't see that it would be a problem as a one off. :)

Would they not let you package up a meal or two in tupperware to give to him? I understand this might not be an option if the surgery is some distance away and it would be impractical to drive back until you can pick him up.

That's the thing BC, it's a 3 hour round trip so I don't really want to go there again if not bringing him home. He has had chicken and rice before I switched to raw when he had a poorly tum.

I'll suggest the nature diet CC, thanks!

Oops!!! I would think you would be fine as a one off if you are worried about the rice tell them just chicken if they cook it themselves tell them just to brown it if they won't chuck it in raw.

I would have given them some chicken wings to feed but I love stirring them up and would find that really funny as most vets are soooo anti!!!!
