How long do you wait to ride after you have fed? And after riding how long do you wait to give food?

Curious as most people do it differently :)

I wait an hour to ride after feeding and 15-30 minutes after riding to feed.

I don't worry about it as he only getsna small feed of fast fibre, readigrass and build and glow. I prefer them to have some fibre in their stomach before working.

I have always gone by the old rule of leaving an hour after feeding, and not feeding if very sweaty after riding.

That being said, my mare only gets a bit of chaff at the moment, so I wouldn't worry too much about just pottering about in the school half and hour or so after. I feed straight after riding if she isn't too sweaty.

I've always left an hour before riding but found by time I've turned my other one out, mucked both out, made teas up, nets, waters then tacked up its about an hour so not left 'waiting' to ride.

Interesting!

I Feed hay before but only a small amounts and then school for an hour. I do the strenuous stuff so I leave time to cool down after riding. :-)

With regard hay/grass etc she gets as much as she wants up to when I ride -I have never really worried about that - just concentrate feeds really.

If I'm just going on a hack, I don't worry about it. In fact, I don't worry about it at all as horse only gets a sprinkle of chaff, two slices of carrot to stretch with and a pat on the neck.

I don't know, I have never fed a horse enough to need to wait that long before or after :D:D:D
