Hi All
Since becoming an apartment dweller i have acquired two mini pomeranian puppies to replace the Springer spaniels who had to stay behind in my mums! The dogs at home were working dogs fed on whatever was on our table that day and they are fine eating like that. However the puppies are 9months old and fully grown and are absolutely tiny- they weigh 2 lbs each and therefore have a tiny stomach which i now know from experience is pretty prone to upsets. A raw diet is completely unviable- i have a housemate who would not appreciate raw meat lying round the place nor do i think it would suit these little dogs. So i have been feeding cooked chicken and vegetables to them twice daily and leaving some puppy kibble for them to chew on during the day but which usually goes virtually untouched. They also get roast beef and steak pieces if i have some left over from dinner and also duck bones which they really enjoy. The vet has said they are in great condition athough he would recommend putting them on a more balanced diet (and what do you know he happened to sell the balanced food he recommended- what a surprise!) So i guess i want to know if people think this diet is ok or is there more i could be feeding them ?
