Hi everyone
My cob is looking a bit better than I'd like for this time of year so I've soaked his haynet for the night fir the first time.
My question is now if I should be feeding more as once soaked the full haynet looks only half full (I weighed it before soaking so it had the right amount ).
Now I'm at home panicking that he will run out and go for hours without anything!

So should I feed more if soaking? Or do I need to just get over the appearance of the net being only half full?

I'd wait and see if it all goes too fast and add straw if it does. If weight loss is the aim, you don't want to add more hay.

The net is empty in the morning but he wont have been out for too long as he has a tantrum if he does - no tantrum means he's OK bless him. So I'm happy with the dry amount, just wanted to try and remove some of the carbs by soaking and then the appearance of the half full net got me wondering

if you are feeding by weight then say 8 kgs of hay is still 8kg whether it is a dry 8kg fluffed up in a net or a "dead" 8kg pushed down in a haynet.
