Feeding Sugar Beet

I love Sugarbeet, and used to feed it (unmolassed) in the UK, but can't get it here.
I believe (though I could be mistaken) that it's not really suitable for youngstock (I assumed because of the calcium... but again, I could be wrong)

No, I think it's quite revolting. It is purely a rubbish by-product and you might just as well feed chopped straw for the same feed "value".
