Does anyone feed whole barley without it being rolled? I wonder if you can feed it whole without simmering it overnight? Any advice would be great thank you.

would only feed whole barley once it was cookerd thoroughly, risk of coloic if fed whole uncooked! i do feed flaked barley as it comes, also cook into porridge for the elderly and lightweights!

I feed my girl whole barley, she lost a lot of weight last year, but so far she's keeping the weight on with the cooked whole barley. Cooking it's not too bad, I do it twice a week and do it in a 6.5l slow cooker which was on offer -i.e. less than £20 - from Argos!

Get a jam preserve saucepan, they are massive and cook until it stops absorbing water, I always put a small handful of linseed in with it. I would never feed it uncooked.
