help got new horse home last week-end he is fantastic had the farrier who only trimed then because they are overgrone going to put shoes on in 4 weeks he passed the 5 stage vetting ,vet said he is under-weight, he will be living out 24/7 now and stabled in winter i need 2 know what 2 feed him his 16.1 belgium warmblood ,i have been giving him hay plus happy hoof and cool mix the same has i feed my mare by the way his name is willem thanks for reading hope for some advice

What was he being fed before?

I would give him as much hay / haylage as he wants. Feed-wise I dont really think Happy Hoof and Cool Mix will be doing him much good if he's underweight as thats just a maintencence type feed. I personally would put him on some sort of conditioning feed (there's loads to choose from) along with Alfa-Beet and Alfa A chaff. All these 3 are conditioning. And Id put him on a decent vit & min supplement which has B vits in it as well as the usual things which'll hopefully give him a boost. Otherwise you could feed a balancer but I dont feed those so dont know much about them TBH - Im sure some people on here will recommend some!

I feed alfa a,comp mix ,unmolassed sugar beet,balancer,soya oil and carrots .I also put fibre nuts in a play ball and ad lib soaked hay.
It will depend on the amount of work and temperament though.change/add feed slowly try calm and condition/sugar beet /alfa a and oil and of course good hay and grass but be careful not to overdo it too quickly

i would do ad lib hay, soaked quickly, feed wise sugar beet, alfa a, and a conditioning mix, something like calm and condition!

I would have him worm counted. Then feed him ad lib haylage , chaff, unmollassed sugarbeet, calm and condition and fenugreek. It is very important to keep a warmblood warm to stop them loosing any more weight.

He is bound to be quiet for your granddaughter if he is underweight and has bad feet. Here's hoping he's back on form soon.
