I'm in the process of buying an Albion K2, having had to sell my lovely Ideal Gazelle because it didn't fit my new'un (booo!)

£1200???? Flipping heck, I mean its not a new make of saddle (I'm buying the saddle new but Its been out a while if you get me....) Shame saddles don't de-value over the years like DVD's >.<

I've ridden in them before and really do like them, I was going to go along the close contact lines but they're pretty sparse at the moment and I'd like to stick to known territory as it doesn't mean replacing all my girths :o

Gimmie your reveiws, the good, bad and the ugly ;-)

I'm guessing you want a new one then? :p I bought mine second hand and really like it, shame it's about 2 inches too big for me, but it fits the horse, and does the job :D There are some really good deals around 2nd hand :)

J&C

I got a second hand one and love it. I always feel secure thanks to the massive knee blocks ;) It's quite old (has the older cream albion plates rather than the red ones) but doesn't make a difference, and much cheaper than buying a 2 year old one that we tried for nearly the same price as a new one!

LOL - I'm on my 3rd K2 (for the same horse!) he kept getting wider and wider..

He was 7 when he got his first, a M, and by the time he was 12 I had to buy him an XXW...

im gutted that its the only saddle that will fit my horse and i have now been saddle-less for just over 6 months because i am saving for it - 17inch medium k2 jump anyone got one second hand? bareback ftw :o

Has mine about 3 weeks now, second hand though not new, but did ghet a good deal on it. I didn't go looking for Albion on purpose, just anything that would fit my odd shaped mare bit the K2 fits wonderfully amd is very comfortable to ride in as a bonus :) Will definitley be looking at them again should she outgrow this one.

I've just part ex'd that exact saddle for an Ideal Impala ! I have to confess I really don't get on with the K2's :o.

I got mine second hand, its a MW - and I'm keeping hold of it till I find the exact same saddle in W. It fits him, but I wear a v thin cloth with it, as any thicker and it would start pinching.

Love my K2, and have now lent it to my bf so she can jump in a proper jumping saddle instead of a GP - she's going to need a proper jumping saddle for next year, and my horse won't be jumping anytime soon. I value it more than her though, so she'd better not damage it! :D

I got given an albion k2 as a birthday prezzie a couple of years ago and i think i love it more than i love the horse!
It was second hand but in really good condition as it had hardly been used. Definitely the comfiest saddle i've ever ridden in, really helped me improve my position and makes me feel so secure when i'm jumping or when my horse does a high speed spook haha. Looks beautiful too!!!
There are some really good bargains out there, have you checked tack shops which have a second hand section? I spotted a few in one near me for about £500ish and they looked really nice. Ebay has some bargains too but i'd always be careful buying a saddle off there as you dont really know the history of it as well, you'd have to get it properly checked over - plus it'd be a bit of a gamble size-wise!

ahhh damn youuu! :o haha i get on with anything as long as its a saddle ;) riding bareback on my 17.2hh is becoming interesting... although i have jumped galloped and regularly school and hack out with a sheepskin pad and a roller :o

If it makes you feel any better, my mare lost a bit of weight and I had to get a new saddle in March. I bought an Albion Royale Ultima Dressage Saddle for......£2,300.00

It's nice to hear that people are still liking the K2. I have been trying to sell my spare Albion K2 GP and have had very little interest! :(

Have you ridden in one and tried it out properly?

I went for a k2 jumping saddle a few years ago (bought it brand new ouch!) and thought that the big knee blocks etc were the way forward for me.....

A couple of years later and that has all changed - im now in a bates momentum which is as flat as a pancake seat wise and has very very small blocks and I LOVE it! It has made such a difference to my jumping and I feel so secure in it.

A bit cheeky I know but I got the saddle fitter out, tried various saddles and got told which size/width etc fit and then said I 'would think about it' -cue a bit of searching and I got the bates momentum (which I loved a tthe saddle fitting but kept quiet about it) in the size etc the saddle fitter said was right and found one on here brand new half the price of the ones in the shop - 2 years on it still fits like a dream and I love riding in it!

I bought a lovely brand new Albion K2 Jump saddle in May for £1250, unfortunately after my horse having issues with his back, the physio has now said she doesnt think it fits him poroperly :(

Bought my K2 for my gelding and was gutted when it wouldn't fit him anymore after injury ...
Decommission it for 3 years and low and behold - it fits the new girl like a glove!
Tis the sort of saddle I wouldn't want to sell, just store to see if it fits a horse later on ... They are just fab!

I have a K2 GP too. l agree with Showjumping Superstars says above, it is very comfy with nice squishy schrump knee rolls !!

Bought mine new 9 months ago and still looks like new, such a lovely saddle !
