Some of you may remember i posted about a massively obese horse in the next field to mine and i was debating whether or not to report his owners to WHW because he'd been turned out in a lush field full of grass and i was concerned about him getting even bigger, getting lami etc......well ive hummed and harred about making the call all week, only to find said horse crippled with laminitis tonight :(. The poor thing took over an hour to be brought in from the field and his owners were pursuaded to call for a vet. I just feel like if id actually made the call to WHW earlier then maybe this could have been prevented. I dont know how he hasnt had lami before now but i still feel like i should have done something :(. Poor, poor horse, i hope he makes a full recovery...and his owners do something about his weight and management!

Look, you should not beat yourself up, what has happened has happened, you cannot change it. Shame said horse's owners were negligent in the first place, lets hope the poor horse is comfy and can be helped. But it is not your fault, it is done now, what if's are never usually good to think about...

Its not your fault. Even if you had called them, the pony was probably already laminitic. I know it sounds awful but maybe its the wake up call the owners need?

I hope the pony recovers. Please dont beat yourself up xx

Thanks guys. Just seeing him barely able to even walk was awful. Wish I'd done something sooner, but yes I hope so too that this will be a severe wake up call to his owners!
