Boxed to lovely friend yesterday, nearly cancelled as pouring down right up to half hr b4 due to leave.

Her hacking is amazing. Quiet lanes, bridleways, through a couple of good streams which were more like raging rivers. Canters up through woods, canters across fields which were amazingly dry (bridleways) and then to finish a gallop up another field (also a bridleway) with the boys side by side both galloping (her first gallop on her young horse) but not racing each other. Then back to hers to wash off and coffee and homemade flapjack.....

has made the whole winter worthwhile !! I didn't realise how much we both needed that .... Our hacking like a lot of peoples is mostly roadworks and although we are lucky enough to have a couple of bridleways they are tracks so no canters available.

roll on spring ....

Sounds great. Sometimes we just need a bit of reminder of why we struggle through the cold, wet, muddy winter. Bring on Spring and some sunshine ☀️

Sounds fab! I’ve felt happier to just be riding these past couple of days. I’d love to go for a good canter or gallop but sadly it’s too wet around me at the moment but I can’t wait until I can!
