Springy is out in this weather without a rug on as she was too wet to put one in. I know she will be fine and has more than enough insulation to keep warm

but sat here in front of the fire with the wind and rain howling outside I just feel really mean. Poor neglected pony!

I took pity on my two at lunchtime as they were both wet, miserable and shivering

so I brought them in. They're now tucked up with nice warm toasty straw beds and enough hay to keep them going til the morning

God, aren't I a softie

I would have brought Spring in too, but having moved to the new yard I haven't yet bought any hay or shavings so she can't come it.

Aww, don't feel too bad. Only got my two in as there's very little by way of natural shelter in thier paddock and they were wet through, and totally sulking! The other horses in the next field to theirs are all out and looked quite happy when we left the yard earlier.

So you should do - you're a bad, mean Mummy and should give Spring to me! No? Ah well, it was worth a try

I know she will be fine really, I guess I am just being a softie as nearly all the others are in or have rugs on. And her 4" of blubber should see her all right until the morning...

When are you coming? I'll start packing her stuff.....

I'm sure Springy will be fine - how would she be in the wild - she wouldn't have her mummy to put her rug on for her then!!!! My Thoroughbred's out in the field without a rug on. I have to admit I do feel a little guitly, especially when I'm in the house with the heating on!!!!

Lol! Well mine is a great big irish sports horse with an ample waistline so I know she will be ok - its purely my own guilt at being in the warm. Glad I am not the only meanie

I went out ot mine who had his rain sheet on and he was shivering...have never seen him do that before so felt awful. So I have swapped his rug for his medium weight and he seems a lot happier now! But you don't expect it at this time of year!

So the soppy devil that I am - she is now in her medium weight turnout after being brought in and dried off with multiple coolers/fleeces as she was shivering. I felt really bad, but with her rug on she was happy to go out again. When is this rain going to stop?!
