I have been doing my schools before and after school club ad a volunteer for 6 months!! No one else would do it !!

It went to an interview today, and I did not get it. :(

I understand that they have an agenda to follow, but I just feel that they wanted me whilst I was free, but the minute they get a better offer then I am useless :(

Life sucks, and I loved that job

I think thats terrible! The only reasoning I can think is if someone with more qualifications in education/child development applied?
I am sorry for you though.:(

I'm really sorry to hear this.
Please do ask for feedback from the interview. Is it possible that you were nervous in the interview situation and so didn't 'sell' yourself well?
Unfortunately because of equal opportunities legislation it isn't possible to just give the job to someone who has been doing it for the last few months, the successful applicant has to be able to explain what they do and how and why they would do it. There is a real technique to being able to talk well in an interview.
Good luck with your next application!

The play co-ordinator rang me and was upset, as she like working with me.

It came down to qualifications , I just feel that I have been there on time and have got some difficult children on my side, and that counted for nothing, even though I was prepared to pay for the qualifications out if my own pocket.

I understand the reasons , but it seems like I have been kicked into touch :( I can't stop crying :( I really did love that job

Unfortunately OFSTED demand qualifications when inspecting out-of-school provision. Can I suggest that you continue to volunteer, if at all possible and begin to study for the qualification, so that next time there is a vacancy, you will be competing on level terms?

i know exactly how you feel. i have been in my NHS admin job for over 6 years, first as a temp, then as bank staff, but I am finishing at the end of May, because they want someone permanent. Still part time hours, but they are changing them so the office is open at times when I can't be there. so for 6 years me and the other admin lady have run this office efficiently, no complaints, but all of a sudden they want to change things and so I am out. i have been trying to get made permanent in this job for the last 4 years!

anyway, move on and I am sure you will find something else where you will be appreciated.

Please don't lose heart - take this kick back as the motivation you need to get those qualifications and more - then next time it will be you getting the job!

You never know - new person might not be able to hack it and by then you might have your quals and be in there!

Best of luck x
