Well the horse I was thinking of buying turned out to be a no go
He was very fidgity in the stable and it was taking me 30-45 minutes to get him to calm down long enough for me to give him a good stroke and apparently brushes are hugely scary horse eating monsters so had to add on another 30 or so minutes before he'd let me give him a good groom. Then yesterday whilst having a lesson he took a major bucking fit and dumped me (bum first... ouchy) onto the school floor - thank god for shreadded rubber flooring! So the yo asked her daughter in law aka fearless crash test dummy/ guineapig to hop on up and see how she got on. Two seconds later she was also looking a bit stunned after another unplanned dismount. Felt not so bad with myself coz I managed to stay on for one less buck than she did but never the less still a bit dissapointed as I was very taken with him. He was going to be a working livery horse for the riding school which does a lot of saddle club activities for kids and obviously you can't put kids on a horse that may or may not be having a bad day and decide to throw them off
Oh well off to england the otherwise lovely Dexter will go, to a new owner who is much more experienced than I am and where little kiddies won't be flapping around on him. On a brighter note the yo has a new horse coming in tomorrow she wants me to look at and who she thinks may be more suitable for working livery so keep your fingers crossed for me!
