I fell off a horse yesterday for the first time since coming back into the saddle, it was not a bad fall...I landed on my back and smacked my head on the ground (I did have my riding hat on!) and today I have whiplash and my hip is sore

Could have been worse a rider last week smashed her elbow poor girl.

Funnily enough I had a cup of tea when I got home in my fave mug which says "I'd rather be horse riding ........ Riding: (n.) The art of keeping a horse between and the ground". !! lol

After the fall I got straight back on.... no confidence lost!!

I am pretty sore but hey ho .... we all have to fall off at some point.
The best thing to do is to get straight back on if your not injured that is. lol

best way to stop being sore.......... go riding again!

Hope your whiplash gets better quickly.

Sounds as though you didn't fare as well as I did - landed on bum back head, but had the time (big horse) to realise I was falling and to think 'relax, if you brace yourself you might break something' - and the jolt has completely cured my sciatica! The relief is wonderful, I hadn't realised how painful it was.

Went for a meal with friends on Friday and one was asking if we could recommend anything for sciatica, and I said mine was completely cured but I wouldn't recommend the treatment

My legs and thigh muscles ached a lot the next day though!!

Do you have a wheat bag (or fill an old sock with some wheat or rice and microwave for a minute or two) then put round neck should help ease your whiplash. Not sure what to suggest for the hip though.

Thanks will give that a go.

I just try to keep moving around so my hip does not stiffen up. When it does I move at a snail pace and sort of drag my leg, lol
