Feeling bad about ending loan

About a year ago a lovely young girl and her mum started a part loan with our old boy. Shortly afterwards he became too ill for full time work and was semi retired. They continued to ride him a little and we no longer asked for a financial contribution. They have been reliable,kind and loving to our boy and of course the young lady adores him. We now find ourselves in a situation where the horse has to be moved away and the loan will have to end. She is heartbroken and we feel terrible about doing this to her. Life sucks sometimes.

Sounds like you really landed on your feet with her, she must really love him. Sadly life does have to move on. I'd personally send her regular photos of him so she still feels involved

Definitely will keep her in touch and even take her to visit if she wants but we all know the pain of saying goodbye to the horse you love,especially when you are young.
