Some of you will know I have suffered with confidence issues since getting George (my first horse) 3 years ago. This year we have really been getting it together and I feel so much more confident, and really trust George :) - this probably means that something is about to go spectacularly wrong (hope not)

Anyway, to get to the point George and I are going to our first showjumping competition (aside from a couple of clear round attempts) in nearly a year, and we are going to try the 2ft 6 trailblazers 1st round comp near by. We have been having jumping practice and are managing 2ft 6 ok, but putting a whole course together in a competition - eek

So Saturday is the day, and I am just hoping my nerves don't fall to pieces. It would be a dream come true to get a clear round, but my aim is to get there, go in and actually get round, regardless of how many poles end up on the ground - all pref without blubbing

So any good luck, get a grip vibes would be great :)

Fabulous you're getting on so well. Probably not much help but I would suggest (as I do to my daughter who is a chronic pre-class nerve sufferer) to just aim to get over every jump and go clear, and not worry about anything else.

I will say this once and only once, so pay attention.......

Bachs Flower Remedy. It really does work. Half a bottle for you and the other half for George! Only kidding. Rescue Remedy does in fact work and you only need 6 drops under your tongue and all the gremlins disappear. I take it when Im a passenger in a car (motorway) and become pretty laid back.I had a horrific crash on a motorway many years ago and find it incredibly difficult to relax and not go hysterical on motorway travel today. Mr Bach and his flowers really make a difference. Good luck and enjoy yourself. M.x

Oh well done - big step forward. I totally empathise and wish you loads and loads of confidence and fun. Getting round is the main thing as you say - will be thinking of you - wish it was me!!

Well done and I'm sure you'll be fine. I'd have thought blubbing was compulsory, but only if they're tears of joy! Even if you knock them all down (which I'm sure you won't!) just keep smiling and remember how far you've come.
