Just feeling a bit sad having just found out that the lovely pony that I've been riding since the start of June has been sold :( She was a pony at my RS and they're all for sale. It's so frustrating when you've ridden a horse for a period of time and built up a bond with them, and then they're gone, just like that. I was looking forward to doing some dressage with her over the winter as she's a green pony and I would like to say that I've helped with her schooling in one way or another, and she was improving every time I rode her. This is the third time this has happened to me, and I'm starting to get really fed up. What's the point of even riding these horses if they're just going to be snatched out of your hands with no warning?
Sorry for the rant, just feeling really fed up. I've tried looking in to loaning however I could only do one weekend day a week, and obviously that's a tall order. Any suggestions?

Oh a big hug, it really hurts I know, but be happy of the times you spent together and be grateful in the knowledge that you helped her get to where she is today, your turn will come in time, chin up sweetie

I feel your pain! I've loved many a riding school pony, and it never ends well. I've decided I don't want to ride anyone else's horse ever again, I just want my own now!

Oh that sucks - know how that felt. On the other hand just think how much riding different ponies, learning how to asses them and get the best out of them improves you as a rider.

I am horse hunting at the moment. Having not ridden another horse other than my lovely old retired mare in 12 years I am finding it very hard both physically and mentally.

I use to feel like that when I was younger. All your time and effort gone don't see it like that but more like you have helped them onto the next chapter and await your next challenge .Life as a RS horse is hard work and be glad they have a easier life.

Thank you :) Good luck with your horse hunting!

And Darcydoo- yes, I have to admit that she was very good-too good- for an RS, and I'm glad to know that she's gone somewhere that will (hopefully) put some effort in to turn her into a lovely little PC pony for the future :)

This reminds me of being a skint 11 year old watching all the horses I loved at our local riding school being sold etc, we worked at the yard every Holiday and weekend in exchange for rides and I must have given my poor parents hell when one of my boys/girls went to a new home but they day came where I could get my own and it just made it all the more special, it'll happen, till then keep up the Good work :) x
